HU Xiaohui

  Basic information

  Hu Xiaohui, Female, is a professor and doctorial tutor. She received M. D. of Vegetable Science in 2003 from Northeast Agriculture University, and graduated from Nanjing Agriculture University and received Ph. D. of Vegetable Science in 2006. She began to work at College of Horticulture, Northwest Agricultural & Forest University in the same year. She was doing a post- doctoral programme in postdoctoral research station in College of Horticulture, Northwest Agricultural & Forest University from April, 2009 to March, 2013 and studying as a visiting scholar in department of plant science, College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, University of Maryland, US. Pro. Hu is now scientist of Shaanxi Provincial Vegetable Industry Technology System, and vice director of Yangling Protected Agriculture Society. She has directed more than 20 key projects such as National Key Technology R&D Program in the 13th Five–Year Plan of China, Subproject of National Key Technology Support Program, Youth Fund Project of National Natural Science Foundation of China, Chinese Postdoctoral Science Foundation, Shaanxi Provincial Key Project, etc.

  Main Fields of Research

  Pro. Hu is mainly engages in the research of protected agriculture theory and production technology, including the following aspects:

  1. Anti-abiotic stress mechanism of protected crops and its technical application

  2. Quality and efficient production technology of protected vegetable

  3. Technology of soilless culture

  4. Control and automation management in greenhouse environment

  Teaching duties

  Soilless Culture, Protected Vegetable Cultivation and Comprehensive Practice Teaching I(for undergraduate students).

  Advanced Protected Agricultural Environmental Engineering(for graduate students).

  Main academic honor

  Pro. Hu has been awarded 2 first prizes of Shaanxi Provincial Sci-Tech Progress Award, 1 first prize of Shaanxi Provincial Sci-Tech Extension Award, 1 second prizes of Shaanxi Provincial Teaching Achievement Award.
